Carlee Stutz

Carlee Stutz is a Western silversmith and engraver based in Burns, Oregon. Originally from Northern Colorado, she found her way to the shop after a short time in college, realizing she was better suited to learning by doing. In 2021, she moved to southeastern Oregon to continue developing her craft in a place shaped by ranching and tradition.

Her work is influenced by the rugged landscapes of the high desert and the long-standing traditions of the Great Basin. She continues to learn from the example and guidance of Ernie Marsh. She also draws inspiration and guidance from other Western trades and craftsmen whose work reflects a deep respect for the trade. In her drawing and engraving, she focuses on designs that emphasize the balance of positive and negative space. Her pieces often feature floral engraving and strong, functional forms.
