Jerry Arbiter Rawhide Reins

Jerry Arbiter-

Jerry Arbiter spent more than 38 years as an aviator. His career included 20 years as naval aviator flying single seat jet aircraft from US Navy aircraft carriers. His military service included flying more than 200 combat missions from the USS Oriskany in Vietnam and more than 900 carrier landings. Nowadays he’d rather be in the saddle on a good horse than in the cockpit of an aircraft…

 

After obtaining a copy of Bruce Grant’s book on making horse gear in 1968, Jerry dabbled in braiding, making a few scruffy projects. In 2010 Jerry began braiding in earnest, making reatas, reins, hackamores, bosals, quirts, rein chains and the like. He processes his own hides and strives for continuous improvement. He gives credit to other braiders and friends including Doug Groves, Kirby Orme and Mike Skinner who’ve generously shared their braiding knowledge.

Please register on the Cowboy Arts and Gear Museum under “My Account” to place a bid.  All payments will go through PayPal.

Each item begins at a reserve price set by each individual maker.  20% of proceeds on Gear Show Items over the reserve will be donated to the Cowboy Arts and Gear Museum.

Bids are to be placed in $50.00 increments.

Each bid placed will be followed by an email confirming your bid.  If you are the final bidder at the completion of the auction, payment will be automatically made through PayPal.  Please make sure your account information is up to date with all accurate shipping information.  All necessary tax deductible information will be provided in the package when it ships.  We are a 501(c) (3) and registered State of Nevada non-profit organization.

All winning bids will be assessed an additional $35.00 shipping fee to cover the freight cost and insurance on the item (Domestically).  Shipping on the Clock will be assessed appropriate fees depending on location of shipment.  International shipment fees will be determined at the time of shipping.  Your item will be shipped promptly upon collection of funds including all shipping expenses.

    Raffle Item

    During the 2023 Bits, Reins and Gear Auction we have also added a raffle.  This raffle is for two separate items.  Both items are sterling silver and hand engraved by Rodney Mike.

    #1- Sterling engraved cuff bracelet

    #2- Sterling engraved money clip

    Each item will be drawn separately.

    The raffle will be held now until the end of the exhibit, February 28, 2023.  All “tickets” purchased online will go into the drawing to be held during the gear museum reception.  Once the winner is announced a representative from the museum will contact the winner.

     

    All purchased tickets are a charitable donation to the Cowboy Arts and Gear Museum.
