Chris Cheney Bit #9

Chris Cheney Bit #9

Chris and his family live in Rexburg, Idaho. He has worked as a self employed bit maker, silversmith and saddlemaker for the last 20 years.  He started out building tack and riding colts to finance college.  Chris started building bits and spurs after attending Miller Bit and Spur school in the spring of 2000.  He’s been blessed with a lot of great mentors to help refine his work along the way.

Building mostly California styled spade bits and Wade type saddles is a passion for him.  With every piece he builds, he challenges himself to produce his finest work.  Whether it is a plain roughout or fully floral carved saddle, a snaffle or a silver inlaid bridle bit, Chris receives great satisfaction in his work. Creating something that is useful to a working cowboy and yet beautiful enough to be regarded as fine art is his constant goal.
